Art

Art is an opportunity for students to follow a personal interest whilst working to their strengths. It challenges students to seek new experiences and opportunities to learn.

Art demands that our students use new skills and to think in different ways. In Art students are encouraged to develop an interest of and enjoyment in the study of art and design, whilst embracing its value in lifelong learning. They will develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures. Students will build upon the knowledge and understanding of the skills they gain over the years. Furthermore students will develop personal investigation, resilience and the ability to try and test new ideas.

Art is a discipline that is nationally recognised and gives access to all other subject areas. Studying Art allows our students to make progress and apply their creativity in all other subject areas, while fostering and valuing a love of the Arts.
