Knowing our students well is something we all pride ourselves on at Dinnington High School. By getting to know each child as a whole person, we can support them to achieve their best and to become a well-rounded individual. We believe that fostering positive relationships between staff and students are key for our students succeeding academically and developing as young people who can add positively to society.
We are frequently complimented on our warm and welcoming culture across our school. This is important to us as we uphold our core values: Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
Our students are all part of a tutor group with a supportive Form Tutor who they see twice per day in morning and afternoon registration. This develops further positive relationships between both students and staff whilst also allowing us to implement and deliver our personal development and behaviour curriculum. Should any parents wish to discuss their child, Form Tutors can be contacted via email in the first instance.
It is important to us that we work collaboratively with parents and carers, as well as our students, building the same positive relationships. This enables us to provide the highest level of support to your child and ensuring they are successful in their time at Dinnington High School. We do this through regular events such as parents evening, rewards events and our school shows. We also use social media to celebrate the wide range of successes of our students in school. We encourage all of our parents and carers to download and access the MCAS app to monitor student behaviour and attendance.
